STOP THE SPREAD OF COVID-19  TOGETHER

PRESS ADVISORY – 12/21/2020
bY Rev. Myrlande DesRosiers; Esq.

Systemic racism has contributed to disproportionate COVID-19 infection rates among our
communities of color. The Everett Haitian Community Center is redoubling its on-going efforts to educate the community to Stop the Spread Together.
The Everett Haitian Community Center announces that it has been awarded a COVID-19
Community Grant Program by Health Resources in Action in “Partnership” with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. The grant program aims to help and reduce the spread of COVID-19 among communities of color in the cities and towns hardest hit by COVID-19.

With this grant, Everett Haitian Community will provide culturally appropriate education and training to prevent and reduce the spread of COVID-19, including messages about physical distancing, mask wearing, hygiene, and other harm-reduction behaviors and activities in targeted communities of Everett, Chelsea, Revere, Lynn, Malden and Boston.
The Covid-19 Community Grant Program awarded 20 grants to community-and faith-based organizations across Massachusetts, totaling $650,000.00
