he Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban Ki-moon, expresses his deep concern at the continuing political uncertainty in Haiti. The Secretary-General said he noted that “this situation is added to the many political and socio-economic challenges facing Haiti”.
According to Ban Ki-moon, “political uncertainty and delays in the completion of the electoral process have the potential to negatively affect stability in the country as well as the support of the international community for Haiti”.
The UN Secretary General calls on the National Assembly to urgently take a decision and determine a viable arrangement for interim governance that ensures the completion of the elections and the return to full constitutional order without further delay . Ban-Ki-moon calls on all stakeholders to act responsibly in the interest of their country and to refrain from any incitement or participation in violence
