Brockton, Massachusetts, Sept. 20, 2026 — InfoHaiti.net — Brockton Mayor Moises Rodrigues attended the final day of the city’s annual Greek Festival on Sunday, paying tribute to the dozens of volunteers whose dedication helped make this community event a success.
During his visit, Rodrigues spoke privately at length (not in the hall of the festival) with festival volunteers. Their discussions focused largely on plans to build a new High School in the coming years. The mayor underscored the project’s importance not only for the city’s students and the future of public education, but also for Brockton’s long-term economic growth and development.
Rodrigues was accompanied by Patricia Sanon, director of community engagement in the Mayor’s Office, and Brockton City Councilor-at-Large Jeff Charnel.
Held over four days at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on Oak Street, the festival attracted visitors from across the region with traditional Greek cuisine, music, dancing and a range of cultural activities. Organized by church members and volunteers, the annual celebration highlighted Greek heritage while bringing together residents from Brockton’s diverse communities.
