Talk on Haiti at MIT
On Friday, April 16, 2010, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, welcomed Mr. Patrick Delatour, Chairman for the Presidential Commission for the Reconstruction and Minister of Tourism in Haiti, along with Professor Frantz Verella, former Minister of Public Works, Transport and Communications; and former Dean at Faculte des Sciences in Haiti. Since Haiti’s devastating earthquake, Delatour and Verella are the first high ranking Haitian government officials to speak at a university community in the New England region. Minister Delatour and Professor Verella spoke to a large crowd of over 120 MIT faculty, students, staff, and local Haitian community members about the actions of the Haitian government since the tragic earthquake of January 12, the development challenges and the vision for reconstruction. A video excerpt of their presentation will soon be available online at www.infohaiti.net and on the MIT Tech TV .
