Springfield paper of record says Minogue “playing politics with the courthouse question, while Healey pushes to replace a sick building with a healthy one.”
Springfield, MA — Yesterday, The Springfield Republican endorsed Governor Maura Healey for reelection, noting that “With accelerating challenges, the state needs steady, pragmatic and determined leadership more than ever” and declaring that “Maura T. Healey is again the choice of The Republican to lead Massachusetts.”
In the endorsement, the Editorial Board outlines Governor Healey’s record of tackling issues of importance to people in Western Massachusetts – from housing and education to healthcare and local infrastructure. The editorial board credits her for living up to the promises she made to them four years ago and names her “by far the best suited” candidate to meet the challenges ahead.
The Republican also referenced Healey’s work to “carry through on a pledge to replace Springfield’s courthouse. With a developer now chosen, Healey says her team is focused on getting the building open as soon as possible. By contrast, her opponent, Republican Mike Minogue is playing politics with the courthouse question, while Healey pushes to replace a sick building with a healthy one.”
