The National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA) in Haiti from December 8 to Decemeber 11

The National Basketball Retired Players Association (NBRPA), the only Association comprised of NBA, ABA, Harlem Globetrotters and WNBA alumni, will return to Haiti for its third goodwill trip, December 8-11. NBRPA Legends participating in this   special delegation seeking to raise spirits in the country recently devastated by Hurricane Matthew are Mike Brown, Steve Francis, Taj McWilliams, Mamadou N’diaye, Robert Reid and Charles “Choo” Smith.
The NBRPA will again partner with the Fondation Enfant Jesus (FEJ) for this third goodwill trip. FEJ is a non-profit that promotes sustainable human development for impoverished children and their families. FEJ provides full-life development programs such as culturally-sensitive education, child and family advocacy, health services, community building and enhancement and support for entrepreneurship. The NBRPA will work hand-in-hand with FEJ throughout the mission on philanthropic efforts including basketball clinics/camps in Petionville and Lamardelle.

“We are proud to team up with FEJ again for this very special cause in one of the most culturally rich countries in the world,” said NBRPA President & CEO Arnie Fielkow. “We look forward to returning to Haiti and helping the communities in need and serving as ambassadors for our great sport.”

The NBRPA delegation will visit schools, orphanages, healthcare facilities and governmental agencies during its three-day agenda. Also during the three-day agenda, the NBRPA delegation will meet with the Minister of Sport and the Sallon Diplomatique, host a basketball clinic in Petionville with Kako’s Kid, and explore the country of Haiti.
