Football | Copa America Centenario: the 23 known Grenadiers

Patrice Neveu has made his choice. The twenty-three Grenadiers who will defend the national colors at the Copa America Centenario, from June 3 to 26, in the United States are now known. Jean Jacques Pierre, Hervé Bazile, Zachary Hérivaux present in the pre-list of forty players are absent. Same case for the new goalkeeper Brian Sylvestre who wanted to start in place of Johnny Placide.

Lovers of the round ball will not be able to see the young Zachary Hérivaux (20 years old) who is full of talent. The versatile Hériveaux has refused for the moment to wear the jersey of the Senior National Selection even if he played at the youth level . He asked the coach to give him time to think about it to choose between Haiti, Japan and the United States of America (country of birth). Coach Neveu has also chosen the five reservists, who will have to be ready to join the group at the last moment, in the event of an injury to a holder.

Before starting the Copa America Centenario on June 4, the Grenadiers will play a friendly match against Colombia on May 29 at Marlins Park in Miami.

It should be remembered that the Senior National Selection will face in the first round of group B, Peru (June 4, at Century Link Field, in Seattle), Brazil (June 8, at Orlando Citrus Bowl, Orlando Florida) and Ecuador ( June 12, at MetLife Stadium, East Ruthrford, New Jersey). The two best selections will qualify for the quarter-finals. However, it should be noted that the Grenadiers’ opponents will play test matches. Peru will play two friendlies at home against sides Trinidad and Tobago and El Salvador on 23 and 28 May respectively. Brazil, will play Panama on Saturday May 28 in Denver, while Ecuador meets the United States on May 25 at Toyata Stadium in Dallas.
