The Provisional Electoral Council informs the general public and the press in particular that on May 30, 2016, it received a presidential decree modifying the mandate of the CEP. Within the framework of the modified mandate, the CEP is responsible for also organizing the elections of the third of the Senate. In addition, the CEP received in the early evening of Tuesday, May 30, the report of the Independent Commission for Electoral Evaluation and Verification.
In order to analyze these new data and their implications, the CEP has decided to postpone its decision to publish an electoral calendar until Monday, June 6.
