Haiti far away for a democratic change

Democracy is based on three pillars: Good governance, Participation and Transparency. Most of the Haiti governments are demagogic from Jean Bertrand Aristide government to Rene Preval. As a former member of Federation National of Haitian student, I witnessed of how the LAVALAS system terrified people. Good governance requires rule of laws to be predominated. However, persecuted students killed them because of their struggles for the autonomy of the Haitian University without is not a country where the rule of laws is the guidance for the society.

Good governance requires rule of laws to be predominated. However, persecuted students killed them because of their struggles for the autonomy of the Haitian University without is not a country where the rule of laws is the guidance for the society.

I was victim as a student of interrogation and physical brutality in 2005 but no way to find justice when it is the government that is terrorized people.

The transparency does not exist because of frauds in the elections. Most of the time, the elections are well-prepared sceneries for the governments candidates to be elected. Anyone who represents a potential rivals for them is subject to threats, persecutions and death. For instance, I was the coordinator for public relations for candidate deputy Barais Jean Louis from the political party Mouvement Democratic de Liberation d’Haiti (MODELH-PRDH). Due to this position, supporters of INITE party came several times to kill me and the candidate in 2009 and 2010. They found, I represented a threat for their candidate to win the election of November 28 , 2010.

In this kind of environment there is no point to talk about participation. If someone cannot go along with the demagogic system characterized by corruption his or her place is not in the country. The only way to participate is to get involved in their corrupted activities.

Nowadays, INITE party is the majority in the Haitian house of congress and senate. Therefore, there is no change. Haiti is going to continue scroll down in hell with a democracy that stays as a desire until now.
