Boston : MOIA Statement on President Biden’s First Day in Office

“Nearly 1 in 3 Bostonians were born in another country, so we know how immigrants are woven into the social and economic life of our City. They have been among those most hurt by this pandemic and are essential to our recovery from it. I applaud President Biden for prioritizing immigrants on his first day in office by issuing critical executive orders and introducing a bill that will modernize our immigration system.

By creating a pathway to citizenship for immigrants who have lived in our communities for years, this bill recognizes immigrant contributions, keeps families together, and demonstrates our commitment to the American values of human dignity and fairness.” –

Yusufi Vali, Director of the Mayor’s Office for Immigrant Advancement
