“No question for President Privert to return the apron”

In the Chamber of Deputies, President Privert does not only have adversaries. Just like in the Senate of the Republic, it has allies who think they will thwart any plan that aims to derail it. For Senator Evalière Beauplan, the President is in no way responsible for the fact that the elections could not take place on April 24. “The agreement of February 5 did not provide for all these procrastination to have a government in place or all these discussions to arrive at a new CEP” declared the parliamentarian who spoke on Wednesday morning on a private station of the capital (Magic 9).

The Parliamentarian insisted on pointing out that during the 5 years of his mandate, the President Martelly could not organize a single election without breaks. Regarding the 2015 election verification and evaluation commission, Senator Beauplan believes that this structure is of paramount importance to give credibility to the electoral process following accusations of massive fraud that marred these games.

For the Deputy Antoine Rodon Bien-Aimé, those who do not want Privert to remain in office simply have the objective of blocking any effort that would aim to shed light on economic crimes that would have been committed under the presidency of Michel Martelly . The parliamentarian who affirms to share the position of the current government commissioner of Port-au-Prince, Me Danton Léger, believes that President Privert must not be intimidated both by the national forces and by the international community who have never missed the opportunity to weaken his power.
